Euprera PhD Seminar 2009
Welcome to Euprera PhD Seminar 2009!
The PhD Seminar is a post-Congress event which will be held in September 27-29 at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Letters, Edgar Quinet street 5-7, Bucharest, Romania.
Doctoral students may choose whether to register only to the PhD Seminar or only to the Congress. Since the seminar will benefit from the impact of the congress, it is highly beneficial to attend both the Congress and the Seminar, using a special package fee.
The aim of the Seminar is to provide an academic platform and to facilitate international networking to benefit doctoral students in public relations and corporate communication. PhD students are invited to present their ongoing work, share views, get feedback from experts and peers and establish a dynamic community of scholars in the future.
The main focus of the Seminar will be on the work in progress of participants. A special focus will be on the variety of subjects, approaches and methods used in different universities. A variety of working forms will be organised to make it dynamic and inspiring
Participants must make a brief presentation of their work at the seminar and prepare to give feed back to up to 3 papers that must be read on beforehand. The following actions are intended:
- Introduction of all participants and their universities;
- Reflections on the impact of the congress;
- Presentation of and feedback to all projects;
- Getting an overview of all approaches, theories and methods, linkages between projects;
- Building up a PhD network for the future;
- Collecting inputs from experts and facilitators.
The candidates must submit:
- One page abstract of personal ongoing work by May 1st.
- Ten pages paper of personal PhD project by June 30. Each paper will describe the subject of interest, the theoretical and methodological approach, and it will indicate the development phase of the PhD project. It will also specify what kind of feedback is especially wanted. It is highly recommended that the papers raise and discuss specific problems in order to stimulate appropriate feedback and debates.
Documents should be submitted at the congress@euprera2009.com address, specifying in the subject “PhD Seminar”.
The maximum number of participants is 20.

Inger Jensen
Associate Professor in social sciences at Roskilde University. One of the initiators of the master’s degree program in public relations at Roskilde University. Research and teaching areas: Strategic Processes, Business Ethics, Organisational Legitimacy, Social Responsibility, Human Resources, Competence and Public Relations. Member of research network on Agents and Institutions – on opening the borderlines between economics and sociology. Past President of EUPRERA and chairman of the Research Committee. Member of the jury of EUPRERA-students award. Supervisor of Ph.D. students in public relations. December 2000 – April 2007 vice rector of Roskilde University. Responsible coordinator of EUA project on Creativity in Teaching and Learning.
Alessandra Mazzei
Associate Professor of Corporate Communication and Public Relations at IULM Univerisity of Milan, member of the Faculty of the Doctoral School in Economics, Marketing and Corporate Communication and of the Faculty of the Master Degree in Political, Social and Institutional Communication at IULM University. Research and teaching areas are Corporate communication, Public Relations, Internal Communication, Communication audit, Relationship Management, Corporate Reputation Management. Active in management education and in business consultancy in the field of Corporate Communication, Business process re-engineering, Human Resources Mangement
Facilitators:
Raluca Moise
Raluca Moise is teaching assistant to at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Letters, Chair of Communication and Public Relations. She is currently pursuing a PhD in co-supervision between the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the University of Bucharest. Born in 1980, she was educated at the University of Bucharest (B.A. 2003), with her postgraduate studies including two masters in Cultural Anthropology. She followed the second master Ecole Doctorale Francophone de l'Europe de Sud-Est et Centrale and graduated with a scholarship granted by the Universitary Francophone Agency. Her research includes the new communications technologies and the material culture in youth culture.
